10 years ago, I was just getting on the internet. I had recently graduated from college and at the moment, I can't recall if I was freelancing, holding down a contract job, or working in retail. It's 2007 now… I feel like we're well into the 21st century, inching towards the sci-fi future we only dreamed about when we were kids in the 80's.
I didn't enjoy 2006 at all. Too much crap going on, far too much wasted time. My big resolution this year, is to make up for 2006, 2005, all that time I wasted in WoW, or stuck in procrastination, laziness and apathy. First, I will rebuild my health from nourishment then to fitness. Second, I will fix my house, and if I have to do it by myself, then that's what it will come down to.
Big chunks of plaster has fallen off the ceiling onto my couch this weekend. The tub's been leaking again, and I'm dreading what the price tag will be to get all that fixed.
My third resolution falls into a bit of vanity. I kinda want my outfits to be talked about again. It's superficial, materialistic and silly but this year I'm going to try a few different indulgences now that I can't rely on food and gaming.
I'm not sure I'm looking forward to going back to work. It was nice having all this time off, it felt like a long while. But I honestly think 2007 will be a good year for me, so I might as well start off with a little positive thinking.
Here's to 2007 everyone.
