This was taken by my old crappy HP 2 mp camera in December of 2002. I miss snow this year. This morning, it was a little cool, and grey, and damp and as I biked in to work, I was thinking how I never expected to be getting so much use out of my bike. In snow, I'd have been bundled up and walked to work. There are some advantages to warm weather, but on the whole, it's kind of sad.
Everyone knows about it… global warming. We've known about it for decades. Environmentalism has never been anything new. The depletion of the ozone layer and the melting of the polar ice caps is something I learned about in grade school in the 80's. But no one is going to do anything about it, and I'm kind of resigned to that sad fact. Because just being 'concerned' about it doesn't do shit when you're still driving to get to somewhere that's a 10 minute walk away. Or if you load up your garbage bins with excess packaging for food that imbalances the ecological structure of the ocean. Or we're buying homes in the woodlands in effect destroying that same natural beauty we cherish. So all this recent hype about global warming, and how the government must do something doesn't give two shits with me, if people won't start on a personal level.
