Year of the Rat
The Rat is the first sign of the Chinese zodiac and signifies new beginnings. This year is thus an appropriate time to start new ventures, especially groundbreakings. This includes new ideas, directions, and ways of doing things. It is a time to experiment and put plans into action, as there will be plenty of opportunities to achieve success. Something to consider is that which is begun now is likely to have long term consequences, so choose wisely to enrich your life.
Every year, it seems everyone makes the same New Year Resolutions. It all amounts to the same thing: Be a better person. People take all of the mistakes they felt they made in the previous year, or in life and general, get guilty about it all, but don't really do anything about it until the beginning of the next year because it's just as convenient a day as any.
I'm not a perfect person. I never will be, and most likely I'll be making the same mistakes I made last year. I'll break my New Year's resolution, no doubt about it. So this year, I'm going to make it short, sweet and dirty.
– Pay off my credit card debt… should be finito in a month from now, two at the most.
– Have at least $10 000 in my savings. ASAP. That simply means I don't get to live the life that I'm accustomed to for a while, but it'll happen.
