Digital Art Resources

Here’s a short compilation of the digital art resources I use to create my artwork.  Most of these resources are inexpensive or free, for artists that may not have the means to purchase everything the art business throws at them.  Remember, you can draw with a standard office HB pencil on the back of an envelope, it’s still art.

I will most likely add to this list as I find more helpful resources.

Clip Studio Paint

I’ve used GIMP, Photoshop, Autodesk Sketchbook as well to create digital artwork. I find CSP’s interface familiar (similar to PS and GIMP), with all the tools I need to create artwork without getting too fancy.  Manga creation tools are useful too, and it’s not difficult to find custom materials and brushes.  However, the main reason I use CSP is because it’s inexpensive.. non-subscription, $50 for the software.

I almost always use DeviantArt’s stock resources section for pose reference.  It’s an excellent place to start if you’re looking for poses.
